The Legacy at the Lawn Campaign will expand our home in Charlottesville, Virginia into a full, world-class educational campus.The Campaign has three main components - adding a second Wing to complete the main headquarters building, constructing a new Lawn building, and enhancing the campus Grounds - each with exciting tax-deductible donation naming rights.
Brothers entering the new Lawn building, designed with Jeffersonian-style architecture, pillars, and arches, will step into The Grand Hall, featuring permanent tribute portraits to the Five Friends and Brothers. Adorning the sides of Grand Hall will be wooden Legacy Lockers, where Brothers may store their Kappa Sigma papers and other memorabilia.
A main attraction will be an expanded, state-of-the-art Archival Center that will house key documents and exhibits to each Chapter's history and tell the story of key milestones and prominent Alumni.
The Lawn building will also feature two Guest Suites and an entry Parlor, to host top Endowment Fund donors and other prominent guests during a visit to the Campus.
The addition of the second wing to the main headquarters will complete the original vision and design of the building, expanding the museum experience and adding new exhibits and educational opportunities for Brothers to see and touch our history.
A state-of-the-art Journey Room will tell the story of Kappa Sigma from our European roots to our American Founding. Its large, interactive digital board and Founders’ Theater, will follow the first expansion of the Order under Stephen Alonzo Jackson, teaching how Kappa Sigma became the world’s most preferred college fraternity, all the way through to our current Decades of Dominance.
The second level of the new Wing will house a new Model Chapter Room – an ornate, Masonic-style facility, complete with an Hallway Gallery – to provide an initiation experience like no other. It also will feature a Masters of the Ritual recognition wall, to honor all Brothers who set the ultimate example of Ritual dedication and excellence.
This transformation will be made complete through the enhancement and further beautification of the campus Grounds.
An expanded Walking Trail will feature a series of Stations to provide yet another opportunity for Brothers to learn and experience the rich Kappa Sigma history, as well as Benches for Brothers to enjoy along the journey.
